"Ballydehob - The Home of Craft" looks at 60 years of hand craft in Ballydehob West Cork, where hundreds of Artists and Crafts people have been coming to live and work since the 1960's - attracted by the beautiful countryside, quality of life and affordable house prices
"In this 30 minute documentary Angela Brady talks to Brian Lalor curator of the Ballydehob Arts Museum's first permanent craft collection. Angela visits the 'Working Artists Studios' to look at the Craft exhibition on contemporary crafts with Paul O'Colmain who also contributed his music. Angela
then meets several artists to inform us about their work from Pottery, and basketry to bespoke jewellery and silk weaving - including the next generation contemporary works"

Royal Academy Summer Shows 2018: Brady Mallalieu Architect's Crown Plaza garden pavilion project was invited to both the Royal Academy London and Royal Hibernian Academy Dublin Summer Shows : 3D architectural model made to sit on fused glass base plate design
Angela has been working as an artist using fused glass for 15 years and has exhibited many times at the Barbara Stanley Gallery London and 3 galleries in Ireland and annually with the West Cork Creates group in West Cork. Angela first curated "7 Hands Crafts” group show of craftspeople with exhibitions in London, Cork and Dublin to celebrate Irish Design 2015. She exhibited at The Blue House Gallery in West Cork with glass and acrylic paintings and a mixed media concrete + glass piece for #Bauhaus100 as group artwork with Robin and Alex Mallalieu
Glass artworks are also exhibited in various group shows with “Shoreline” in the Blue Egg Gallery in Wexford, The Mill Cove Gallery in Kenmare, the Etain Hickey collection in Clonakilty and also shows her glass works at the Uillin West Cork Arts Centre
Angela collaborated with sculptor Holger Lonze to make a Bronze and fused glass artwork " Winterfields" for “The Garden” show curated by Alison Ospina and exhibited in Skibbereen #WestCorkCreates with 40 artists and at The BlueHouse Gallery Schull
Commercial installations include 4 steel and fused glass artwork panels for The Murphy Group HQ in London illustrating the work that they do in a series of 48 fused glass plates mounted on the 4 steel panels which were laser-cut as part of the design
Angela paints artworks to commission and painted 32 acrylic paintings for UK Specialist Hospital in Emerson's Green NHS treatment centre in UK where Brady Mallalieu architects were involved in the main design works. These were mainly abstract landscapes inspired by the Irish coastline
Community Art Projects include the award winning "Brickworks community centre" where a selection of Angela's 10 large acrylic paintings are part of the fit-out project by Brady Mallalieu Architects
As a TV broadcaster Angela co wrote and co presented with Dr Sandra O’Connell the 4 part documentary series “Designing Ireland" - a landmark TV series promoting the best of Irish Design, broadcast on RTE in 2015 and 2016. It continued to be broadcast in Australia + New Zealand on Sky Arts in 2018 and currently is available on AmazonPrime in USA and Canada 2020
Angela was awarded an OBE in 2015 for services to architecture & education and in 2016 was awarded the Irish Presidents Distinguished Service Award for contribution to Irish Design in Arts and Culture. She was given a lifetime achievement award from Westminster University and awarded a Doctor of letters 2018 and many other awards and fellowships. Angela spends time between London, Cork and Dublin with husband Robin Mallalieu and their two children
Angela also works to private commissions and works with clients on special projects
