Our group of master crafts people started out as 7 Hands and was part of Irish Design 2015 showcase of Irish Design. Our show launched in London in June at Expo 2015 and then travelled to West Cork to Ballydehob - the heart of the Irish Craft movement

on to Dublin to RIAI and London.

Since 2016 the group is called "10 Hands Crafts" and were invited to China Craft Week 2018 as the focus country.  We have also exhibited at London Craft Week 2019 and 2021. We have a special website to feature each craft artist and some videos about the groups works www.10handscrafts.com

“There is a special energy in the rugged West Cork landscape which suffuses the creative mind with inspiration and plays a key role in the creative process. The wild isolation of Ireland’s South West corner is second to none"

Since the early 1960’s the West Cork region has become home to a large population of artists, designers and craftspeople. They share a fascination with the locality, the swell and sweep of its contours and the unique quality of the light

While today artists are drawn by the scenery and the serenity of this remote locale, during the 60’s and 70’s it was the creative community itself which attracted people looking to join a fully-fledged bohemian artist’s colony. The short film "Ballydehob the Home of Craft" ws launched AUgust 2021 by David Puttnam and sponsored by Creative Ireland and The DCCI.

The presence of so many artists and craftspeople in the region has produced an atmosphere of creative excitement and experimentation. Even today the community shares an enthusiasm for innovation and originality which continues to sustain West Cork’s reputation for artistic endeavour
