1    Energy: Cut your bills - check your habits

Ensure all light bulbs are low energy. Switch off when not in use. Keep room thermostat at 18 degrees C - wear thermal clothes in very cold weather.

2    Insulate: Some Government grants available to add loft /wall insulation.

3    Home: Draft proof windows, external doors, letterbox and chimney (ensure window / air vents are not sealed as you need fresh air. Chart energy bills to compare every month. Lots of ways to cut your bills and save energy. #Top10 energy savings tips;-

4    Health: Chart your Health and make a 2026 family/household plan

Cut the Kilos this month if you are overweight. Check the BMI of your household and start a monthly chart. Cut down on salt, sugar and fat for a healthier diet.  Cut out/down on red meat and add more in season green veg. Be FIT for 2026.

5    Garden: Time to tend the garden, plot or pot. Feb is a great time to plan for the coming gardening year and to plant seeds and plants in garden, plot or pot.

6    Volunteering in the Community: Volunteering brings rewards to all. You can really make a difference to peoples quality of life & environment and its sociable too. Lots of charities & local community groups need volunteers.

7    Transport: Watch out for ‘lazy car miles’ Go for the fitter option. Walk or cycle to school, work or play or use public transport.  Count your miles on foot, bike, car or bus every month to reduce CO2.  Exercise 30 mins every day;- walk, jog, gym or stairs.
