Architect, Artist, TV Broadcaster & Design Champion 


Angela Brady OBE PPRIBA FRIAI PDSA


Angela is a Dublin born architect, director of multi award winning practice Brady Mallalieu Architects, 
set up with Robin Mallalieu based in London, with another base in West Cork. They specialise in contemporary 
sustainable design and people led projects. A graduate from TUDublin she set up RIAI London Forum 
with colleagues, for the Irish architects community in London.

As an Artist Angela held her solo Art Show called “Horizon” - at the Irish Embassy London in Nov 2025;- 


10 Paintings on canvas and 30 fused glass artworks. She also curates #10handscrafts Irish

master crafts people, who were invited to China’s International Design & Creative Craft show on the Ireland stand

in 2024 & 2019 to represent Irish design on an international platform.

In 2023 and 2025 she collaborated with the late Paul Costelloe for London Fashion Week and

made flamboyant bespoke ranges of fused glass jewellery for the fashion shows.

TV Experience: Angela has made 3 prime time TV series promoting Architecture and Design and has made many videos on architecture, design & craft. 


TV Shows;  “Designing Ireland” on RTE, - co written and presented with Dr Sandra O’Connell. 
This 4 part TV documentary series was part of 'The Year of Irish Design 2015' where Angela and Sandra selected key Irish designs in architecture, interiors, industrial design, landscape and product design to showcase the best of Irish Design.

“Building the Dream” on ITV  where Angela was the architect on the show and designed a sustainable family house which 
was build by 14 couples. Largest prize on TV at the time as winning couple won the house.

“The Home Show” on Channel 4, where Angela travelled to 6 cities to seek their particular cultural design style including;- Paris, Copenhagen, Bavaria, Palma, Venice and Marrakech.

Leadership roles: 

Angela was elected President of the RIBA - Royal Institute of British Architects (2011-2013) - voted the most effective president in 28 years - (AJ Survey). As RIBA President she gave over 100 keynote speeches worldwide, on sustainable city making and low carbon design. During the 2012 London Games she championed the designers of the London Olympics and Paralympics and made the video “Designing for Champions” - promoted by UKTI worldwide;

As chair of Women in Architecture, part of Architects for Change at RIBA, she promoted Women and Diversity in Architecture, Angela created and curated the DiverseCity exhibition, promoting diversity in architecture, which travelled to 34 cities around the world.

Angela was a Design Champion for the London Development Agency & is an Ambassador for The Design Council UK. 
She speaks at several International and National events.
In 2025 she was a keynote speaker at Iraq's first international Festival of Architecture in Baghdad.

In Jan 2026 Angela gave a keynote talk at Foster & Partners London, called "Knowing your Neighbours" on how to design for community in place making.
