Angela Brady FRIAI. RIBA. FRSA B.Arch Sc.Dipl.Arch. Architects and TV broadcaster Director Architect Brady Mallalieu Architects Ltd and Pabe Media Ltd Angela Brady is co founder of award winning design practice Brady Mallalieu Architects. She has many roles within the profession as an ambassador of good design in the media and in her professional life. Within her practice she has developed a particular interest in mixed use projects including housing, community and educational projects and working with listed buildings. She promotes sustainable and eco- friendly design in schools and to the public and has worked on many award winning projects. She is a CABE Enabler and an Ambassador for the Government Equalities Office. She has appeared both in the National and professional press and on television and radio on a regular basis. In her current series on Channel 4 “The Home Show” co presented with George Clarke she visits six cities around the world and comments on the qualities of architecture and interior design. In 2004 she completed a 65 part TV series “Building the Dream” for ITV1 where a contemporary family home she designed was constructed in 14 weeks in Somerset. In 2007 she filmed a documentary for Teacher TV on Inspirational leaders. She filmed a tour of Dublin’s new architecture for the RTE and appeared as an architectural advisor on Channel 5’s TV series ‘Hot Property’. She takes regularly takes part in Architectural debates on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio London and RTE. Angela designs and presents many kids workshops with organisations such as;- Artsinform, CABE, RIBA, RIAI, MOMA, Crafts Council, DCMS, National Gallery of Ireland, Hugh Lane Gallery and The Building Exploratory Hackney. She is a keen promoter of sustainable architecture and contemporary design and is a STEMnet ambassador for schools. Angela is past chairperson of Women In Architecture (2000 - 2005). With WIA she curates the “Diversecity” exhibition for a 34 city world tour promoting diversity within the profession. In March 1993 Angela Brady received an Irish Post/ AIB Bank Award for personal achievement in architecture. She was made a Fellow of the RIAI and RSA. In 2007 she was highly commended as a finalist in the ‘Women of Outstanding Achievement’ at Atkins Inspire Awards.
